The National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE administers the GATE exam on behalf of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), and Government of India. Not only that but several colleges and institutes that do not give MHRD scholarships or assistantships require GATE exam qualification as well.
Who is eligible to apply for GATE?
Candidates must meet the authorities' mandated eligibility conditions to take the GATE exam. Nationality, age limit, academic qualification, required marks, and other factors will be considered in the GATE qualifying requirements. Candidates must, however, check the list of qualifying examinations that are eligible before filling out the application form. The following are the general eligibility criteria for GATE 2022:
• Age Limit - No age limit.
• Nationality - Candidates must be Indian citizens. On the other hand, candidates from other nations can apply for GATE if they match the eligibility requirements.
• Pass Percentage - There is no requirement for a passing grade in the qualifying degree.
• Academic Qualification - Candidates must have completed or been in the last year of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or a Master's Degree in Science (M.Sc) in any relevant science discipline.
The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or must be in the last semester or year in the architecture, Technology, Engineering, science, statistics, computer application, and mathematics. The exam conducting authority has not set any kind of age-limiting barrier or criteria for the examination. The reservation is provided to the scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other backward classes. As there are 27 subjects or papers under this examination due to which every paper has a different syllabus. The candidate must check the syllabus before appearing for the exam (Result, 2021) .The Government of India has also opened the examination gates for international students (United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh). How to Fill Out the GATE Application Form?
1. Register: Candidates must register on the GOAPS website by providing their name, email address, and mobile number. An enrolment number will be generated after a successful registration. Create a password to use as a login for the rest of the GATE exam process.
2. Fill Application Form: Log in and fill out all of the required information, such as personal, educational, and contact information. In addition, the application form requires information about the college and a valid photo ID. In addition, the GATE material and exam centres have to be chosen based on personal preferences.
3. Upload Scanned Images: The photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable) must be scanned and submitted according to the authorities' standards.
4. Payment of Application Fees: Payment of the application fee in the online manner (net banking/debit card/credit card) as per the category one belongs to is required to finish the GATE exam application procedure.
5. Submit Application Form: Review and submit the GATE 2022 application form after completing the preceding procedures.

The GATE test is held in an online format (Computer Based Test (CBT)) at several locations in India as well as six cities outside of India.
